My name is Kevin Rooney. I’m from Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. I received a Bachelor’s degree in 2014, after which I moved to Taipei to teach at a bilingual school.  It was in Taipei that I fell in love with teaching.  I enjoyed working with my students, watching them grow from shy and timid children into confident and fully bilingual students. My experience was so overwhelmingly positive that I decided teaching was something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life.  Because of my newly found love for teaching and the revelation that it was something that I wanted to do as a career I returned to the United States to go back to school after only two years in Taipei. Back in the United States I began working on a Master’s Degree in International Education and Advanced International Baccalaureate (IB) Studies which I have enjoyed immensely. Although I have spent most of my life around Washington D.C., I have also lived in Europe, Japan, and most recently Taipei. I’ve loved traveling and learning about cultures and languages since I was a kid and living in China has always been something that I was interested in.   I also love teaching and working with students so I am excited and eager to begin my career with Shanghai Victoria Kindergarten.
