教研活动 - Literacy Professional Development 读写计划培训

   上周,香港维多利亚的英文协调员Toni Bain老师来到了浦东园,对我们的英文老师进行紧密的培训,深入指导他们实施新的英文读写计划。老师们依据幼儿的年龄特点和读写活动的类型,首先进行了分组讨论与设计出相应的教学方案,然后进入课堂与Toni老师一起实施教学。接下来,老师们通过反思和提问,与Toni老师探讨读写计划实施中的困惑与难点。在下午的培训中,Toni老师分享了如何选择与使用不同的图书对幼儿进行读写教学;同时也指出了不同年龄阶段的教学重点。此次培训为老师们的教学实践提供了十分有益的指导。

Last week Mrs. Toni Bain joined our campus for a full day of on site training with our teachers. Toni is Victoria Educational Organizations(VEO)  literacy consultant and has years of experience as a teacher and literacy consultant. Toni is based in Hong Kong but spends time in Shanghai training our teachers as well.

During Toni’s visit she worked with teachers from all grade levels to plan a readers or writers workshop or lesson based off the elements of balanced literacy. Once the lesson was planned collaboratively, all the teachers then went into the classroom together. The teacher of the classroom and Toni would teach the lesson to the students. Having the support and coaching of Toni while our staff was teaching was an incredibly beneficial experience for everyone. The other members of the grade level would get involved with the lesson to help support and learn through doing rather then watching.

After each lesson was compete teachers would gather to debrief about the session which allowed them to reflect, share observations and ask questions. Toni would help provide everyone with further strategies to help our teachers improve their practice.

In the afternoon Toni provided further professional development to all staff members sharing about the ways in which we can properly choose books for our read aloud and shared reading sessions. We also discussed elements of the K1 curriculum as well various ways to teach sorts to all grade levels in our Words Their Way Program.

This professional development was a truly beneficial and a valuable experience for all staff involved. We are very lucky to have such a knowledgeable literacy coordinator working with us and we look forward to more shared experiences together in the future.
